Comments: The high end Ride Bindings have been my choice since the Last “Ride Team Series” binding several years ago. I am consistently impressed with the comfort fit and un-yielding performance of the SPi. This binding benefits the rider looking for Stiffer performance(better edge hold, faster edge-to-edge response) and contoured boot comfort.
What makes the SPi for ’09-’10 special is Ride added their “Wedgie” foot pad. This is a full length foot-pad with a 3.0 degree “Cant angle”. The “Cant” puts the riders foot at a slight angle to better line up the bottom of the foot, ankle, knee, and hip. This increases comfort, turning leverage, and reduces leg fatigue. Especially if your riding a stance wider than 22”. Canting is used in DH Skis and boots, race snowboards, and has been a modification many pros have added to their bindings for years. This subtle feature makes such a big difference in riding performance, it must be experienced to be understood.
Be sure to check out the other ride bindings and find the model that fits your riding style.
