The kewl crew from the last bus run on Sping of 08. Driver Wendel Wilkes took us through amazing storms over the season - we laughed because there were times it was snowing doilies and we could barely see the road. Many a time I rode shotgun and watched Wendel and his trusty GPS find our way to the mountain and back… We’ve had several great drivers over the years… In my opinion, Wendel is one of the best! The man knows how to drive!
The bus system works well if you know some of the tricks o’comfort. Such as arrive early enough to get your board or skis waxed and loaded in a pod. Bring a pillow, snacks and sandwiches, and entertainment in case you’ve seen the movie we show during the ride back to town.
If the bus is in front of the shop, pick a seat, drop off your pillow, day pack, and coat in said seat, go inside the shop and grab your ticket/receipt, get your gear waxed then load it in a pod - remember which one- and take your seat. Roll call will happen about ten minutes before we leave and once in a while a standby position opens for those lucky enough to score the seat.
We’re responsible for keeping the bus clean so during the trip someone will bring a garbage bag your way so you can get rid of your debris and we have happy bus owners. They’ll send us the new buses if we take care of them…if you’ve ever ridden one of the old ones, you know how great the new ones are. Either or, one of our piece de resistance is - clean bathroom on board! Go ahead, drink a coffee, read the paper, and we’ll drive you to the mountain so you can play.
Come join us - even if you only ski once in a while … Berg’s bus is a terrific way to go play and leave the driving to us.
See you there.

Val,
You were awesome to ski with me at Willamette Pass on 1-11-09. Your phone number did not get saved in my cell, so please call me again. I don’t know how else to reach you. But thanks again for a great day of skiing. I did things I never thought I could do, because of your encouragement and enthusiasm.
