Toys for Tunes runs through Sunday, December 11th so bring your gear in to get ready for Winter Break and pay with a Toy for the Relief Nursery.

Buses are running!

A quick note about the buses bergs offers. We try and send buses to Mt. Bachelor, Willamette Pass and Hoodoo Ski Area as weather and rider interest allow. We have been fortunate to start this season with buses to Mt. Bachelor the last two weeks.

Once La Niña fully kicks in and the snow hits Willamette and Hoodoo, we will be lining buses up for those resorts. Basic information on our buses can be found on our website at www.bergsskishop.com. Please call the shop if you have any questions at 541-683-1300. You can also get timely information on Berg’s Buses by liking our Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/TheBergsBus.

Starting in January, we also help Mt. bachelor with the Hookey Bus. Hookey Bus runs Wednesdays from Eugene to Mt. Bachelor and spots can be reserved by calling Mt. Bachelor at 800-829-2442. The Hookey Bus runs through March.

It’s going to be a great, snowy winter. If we can help you get to the snow on one of our buses, we’ll be very happy to help you out. Give us a call, check out the Facebook page or email us at info@bergsskishop.com for help with any questions.

Winter is Coming!

A beautiful sight this morning checking the pass cams and the resort reports and seeing the blankets of new snow everywhere. Oregon snow is here!

Timberline Lodge and Mt Hood Meadows are ready for business. Both are planning to operate a couple of lifts this weekend. Mt. Bachelor, Hoodoo and Willamette Pass are still looking for a little more depth but grooming operations are getting underway and with a healthy dose of snow in the middle of next week there’s a chance one or all of them could be open for the weekend after Thanksgiving.

With another season of snow comes another batch of product innovation from the industry. Columbia Sportswear has shipped its Bugaglove Max Electric gloves. It’s like an electric blanket for your hands. Three heat levels, a comfortable fit and durable outer shell make this unlike any other glove you’ve seen. Stop by the store to check it out or see it online at http://bit.ly/vhnETC.

That’s it for now. Watch those pass cams and check out the resort websites to view the progression into our second La Niña winter!

Kicking Winter Off

Winter is right around the corner. We know because we’ve just had a great week of kickoff events with more to come. Berg’s is excited for this season’s La Niña-style snow in the Cascades and all the great new gear the industry is putting out to make the most of your time on the hill.

Check out the next event on our kickoff slate, UllrFest on November 5th. Ullr the mythical Norse God of Winter has been known to respond to sacrifice of wood Norwegian made skis by bringing an early, and strong winter of good snow to those who believe. At UllrFest in Eugene this year we will enjoy the music of the Disco Cowboys from Seattle presented by the Slocum Center. Ninkasi Brewing will host the event on their beautiful outdoor patio. Dress accordingly! That means Viking helmet, leather, fur and a vicious grin.

UllrFest is a benefit for the Willamette Alpine Race Program and Pacific Northwest Ski Education Foundation.
